Job Description

•The Discipline Supervisor -Electrical, and Instrumentation is accountable to the Construction Manager at all times. •As a member of our company’s Site construction team, an on-going analysis of Site Safety is required on a continuous basis, to ensure a safe working construction Site at all times. •Ensure that the Electrical & Instrumentation Contractor has all the safety documentation prepared before commencement of work. •Ensure that the Electrical & Instrumentation Contractor has the required safety meetings. •Liaise and co-ordinate with the project E&I engineers, Site Manager and supervisors of other disciplines to ensure effective communication on daily activities •Assist the E&I Engineers in managing the schedule (time), cost (QS measurement), quality and scope on all E&I contracts on the project. •Ensure that Site construction power is operated safely. •Ensure that the Electrical & Instrumentation Contractor fully understands all applicable Site electrical procedures e.g. Lock-out Procedure and that suitably qualified and experienced persons are authorized to perform electrical lock-outs for equipment. •Ensure that electricians performing HT switching and lock-outs are qualified to perform such undertakings and that the authorization appointments are in place. •Periodically review the Contractors safety documentation for compliance. •Confirm Issued E&I Drawings and revisions with Site and Head Office Document Control. •Verify all site delivered equipment with the Materials Controller, confirming equipment tag numbers, and approving the packing lists and checking against an E, C&I equipment list. Also inspect for damage during transport. •During construction phase – ensure safe access hand-over forms are received from Mechanical, Piping and Civil contractors, prior to allowing electrical contractors into the work areas, keeping clear record of access dates. •Record and communicate all problems to the Project Engineer and Construction Manager. •Implement and control all Electrical Site Variation Instructions received according to the agreed Site Variation Procedure. •Ensure receipt, conduct reviews of, and finally approving contractor daily diaries. He shall also ensure that these records are safety stored. •Take part in weekly Project and Safety Meetings, taking responsibility for actions and safety instructions. •Study the project schedule and manage contractors to ensure on-time completion. •Compile and update all relevant quality and hand-over documentation on a continuous basis. •Take particular care to carry out the requirements for the storage and maintenance of equipment prior to inclusion into the project works or prior to hand over to the client, as instructed by the discipline Project Engineer.

Required Skills / Experience

•Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic engineering -Essential •Wire-man's License / Electrical construction regulations –Added advantage •Experience as an Artisan Electrician/ Control & Instrumentation Technician -Essential •At least 5 years work experience as an Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor -Essential
